Session I:

3 August (Monday), 5 August (Wednesday), 7 August (Friday) 

• 3 August – 9:00am – 10:00am – Class Orientation
• 3, 5 and 7 August – 10:00am – 1:00pm  &  2:30pm – 5:30pm (you have to attend ALL sessions)

Session II:

 10 August (Monday), 12 August (Wednesday), 14 August (Friday)

• 10 August – 9:00am – 10:00am – Class Orientation
• 10, 12 and 14 August -10:00am – 1:00pm  &  2:30pm – 5:30pm (you have to attend ALL sessions)

Notes for both New Entrants in AY2026/27 and Current Students:

• ENG3000 is compulsory for Year 2 and Year 3 Senior Year Entrants unless you meet the exemption criteria. Failure to complete this course may delay your graduation.
• Students need to attain 80% attendance in order to pass the course. In other words, if students are absent from the course for more than 4 hours, they will fail the course.

Notes for Current Students:

• To facilitate our class assignment, please fill in the form by 24th July 2026. Please note that you need to attain 80% attendance (i.e. being absent for 4 hours only), or else you will fail the course. 

Notes for New Entrants in AY2026/27:

• Since ENG3000 is a graduation requirement at the University, you will be automatically assigned to take the course once you complete the New Student Registration by 31st July. Please note that failure to complete the registration process may result in no assignment to the course.
• To facilitate our class assignment, please fill in the form (attached in the email from HSUHK) by 24th July 2026. Please note that you need to attain 80% attendance (i.e. being absent for 4 hours only), or else you will fail the course. 
• If you foresee you cannot fulfil this 80% requirement, it is advisable for you to choose “No, I cannot attend either Session I or II” in Question 6 within the form.
• If you want to DROP but be prioritized for enrollment in Semester 1, please upload the proof with evidence to the form and NAME THE FILE with your FULL English name. If you do not follow our format to upload the file(s), your proof will not be accepted.
• If you do not fill in the form for dropping the module but do not show up in class, you will be blacklisted from taking the module ENG3000 in the next round.
• If you are successfully enrolled in the August round, you will receive an email about the course schedule and venue in your HSU email account by 31st July, so please check your HSU email. If places are full, you will NOT receive this email, and you do NOT need to attend the course in August. You will be enrolled in the sessions that are offered after the semester starts (details to be sent out later).
