In memory of H.C. Andersen, we are thrilled to announce a musical play set for late August. This production will feature several scenes, each adapted from Andersen’s beloved stories, reimagined in a school context.
We are currently seeking talented individuals to join our team for the musical play! Opportunities are available for performers, composers/lyrists, set designers, and a production team responsible for props, costumes, backstage support, lighting, and audio.
Our teachers will provide training and guidance over the next few months to all participants.
Performers: You will receive training on a 10-minute script, followed by blocking sessions (approximately 10-15 hours), culminating in final rehearsals for at least 1-2 days.
Set Designers: You will conceptualize backdrops for the various scenes and collaborate with design companies to bring them to life. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to use our latest Extended Reality (XR) lab to create 3D animations for post-production effects.
Production Team (props, costumes, backstage, lighting, and audio): You will be responsible for procuring props and costumes for the play. Those involved in backstage operations, lighting, and audio will gain hands-on experience in a professional black box theater! You also need to take part in the 1-2 day rehearsal after the final exams.
All contributors will receive at least 6 iGPS and book vouchers as a reward for their efforts. The entire musical play will be recorded and archived on our website and the HSU Undergraduate Journal, with all contributors acknowledged.
If you’re interested, please sign up HERE by 10 May. Our teacher will reach out to you through WhatsApp after receiving your signups
