Consultation:

1. Each consultation session takes place on MS Teams and lasts for 30 minutes.

 

2. The schedule of each week of the consultation sessions will be released on ELC Outlook Calendar. Each student is allowed to register for one session (30 minutes) only per week on a first-come, first-served basis. 

 

3. After scheduling a consultation, please specify (in Notes): What English skill (e.g., IELTS writing) you would like to work on during the appointment.

 

4. Upon registration, a meeting will be scheduled on the teacher’s and the student’s MS Teams Calendar. The teacher will leave if you do not show up within the first ten minutes of the consultation. If you fail to join the meeting, please send a message on MS Teams to inform the teacher. In addition, you will not be entitled to register for the consultation the following week.

 

5. For writing, please present your writing to the teacher during the consultation. The teacher will only provide you with general feedback about your language accuracy. No comments on the content or detailed editing will be provided. For speaking, please present the topic(s) you want to practice to the teacher during the consultation. Upon your speaking practice, your teacher will give you general feedback about your language performance. For reading and listening, please present the exercises or extracts that you do not understand to the teacher during the consultation.

IETLS Mock Speaking Test:
1. Each mock test takes place in ELC (Block A, 2/F, inside the library) A205 and lasts for 30 minutes. 
2. The schedule for each week of the test will be released on ELC Outlook Calendar.  Each student is allowed to register for one session (30 minutes) only per week on a first-come, first-served basis.
3. If you fail to join the test, please send an email to elc@hsu.edu.hk.  If you do not show up within the first ten minutes of the test, the teacher will leave. In addition, you will not be entitled to register for the consultation the following week.
